One of my two pieces for Gallery 1988’s Old School Video Game Art Show: Level 2, opening Friday, October 26th 7-10pm at G1988 Venice at 214 Pier Avenue, Santa Monica, CA.
I’m really excited to be in this show, and it was difficult to pick just one game to depict. Both pieces (I’ll post the other soon) are mash-ups of all my favorite games. For this one I wanted to pay homage to one of the most iconic photographs in history and put an 8-bit spin on it by having some of video games biggest (and smallest) underdogs in the crowd, alongside some baddies, cheering (and jeering) Lil’ Mac’s triumph. Headlight Hotel did an amazing job with these, staying true to the colors and transparencies with super sharp printing.
